Do you really want to do endurance racing? It will be far more physically demanding than regular short distance sprint racing, and also more demanding on your equipment.

At most places, your son will be in the junior class, so different weight limits would apply. Sharing a drive can also be problematical in terms of meeting the minimum weight limits, if your son had to carry plenty of lead to make the minimum weight, you could be way over race weight on the same kart.

Stretton (Leicester) does 4 stroke sprint racing..but as everyone will tell you, get down to the track and see what goes on, and talk to people. It's always best to get familiar with the scene before jumping into - there's a lot of information to take in. I spent a couple of years just doing test days with my daughters before actually starting racing this year - we've had great fun and it suited us fine.
