Debaffled exhausts are legal and are significantly faster. Furthermore if you use the standard exhaust, you risk damaging your engines when the standard baffle plate disintergrates and bits of metal can (rarely) drop down the exhaust port.

If you do the top end yourself. Look carefully at valve grinding, too much or too little and the engine will be a dog. It's much harder to do this right than you might think.
