By valve grinding do you mean lapping?

We had that exact problem, in that a small shard of metal ended up bouncing around with the valves. Thankfully I noticed it immediately and the engine ran for all of about 5 seconds before it was turned off!

If that's the case my exhausts will definitely head off to Pro Kart Engineering at some stage, how much does it cost per exhaust?
