I took the engines to BrownPower - a recommendation.

They stripped the engine for me and showed what was worn etc.

In the end I went with the new head, and a gx200 at that because was already thinking off putting a different carb on it.

The woodruff key didn't look worn, but there was significant movement and a gap in the keyway on the flywheel. This movement gave me cause for concern. The piston rings needed replacing. And there was wear marks at the lower end.

I'll get all the old parts back with the engine, so can still 'have a play'.
