LOL , yes I see what you mean.

However we do base it on a lot of trial and error testing, and go by what gives the best time and makes the driver happy. Even if the science theory or latest pit gossip does disagree.

We have found over the few years we have been karting that some " experienced" people say one thing and the next guy says the opposite!!

When we have some free time on a test day we do experiment with variations on a theme of setup. i.e. we would do several axle changes back to back. then hub lengths etc. We keep good records so can jump back to a setup that worked before in similar conditions, again that doesn't always "magically" work.

There are so many variables in karting that at best you manage to find an acceptable compromise in a setup that gives you a good feel and acceptable times compared to the other racers on the day.
