The basic Alfano was GREAT in it's day. The problem is that it;'s day was a LONG time ago, now.

The Mycrhon does everything that the Alfano (not the Pro, GPS type version) did but it also does LOADS of things MUCH better!

When you have used the onboard facilities and have got the hang of those, you'll want to download the data to a PC and see HUNDREDS of details better and more clearly. That's when you'll see the differnces MOST clearly!

Nobody argues that the Mychron can NOT do more than the basic Alfano, so what IS it about the Alfano that IT does better than the Mychron? Why are that so similar in prices? I just don't get it!
