1) You should have bought the Mychron....

....however......

2) We are assumiog your floor tray is still Aluminium. If it's a ferrous metal (e.g., steel), all bets are off. The sensor can 'see though' the Alloy or plastic floor tray.

However.... to set tour mind at rest..... go and get a LARGE fridge magnet. Set-up your Alfano and place it all in position WITHOUT drilling any holes. Once it's set up, wipe the fridge magnet along the underside of the floor tray and you'll be able to see for yourself if it works through the floor tray. If it does, then THAT's the time to mount it solidly!
