No matter what form of motorsport you want to do its expensive thats just a fact you need 10k min to race cars about 2k a year just to do a track day a month thats if you have a car of some sort i looked into both and even tho i have a 200bhp astra van which would prob be great fun on a track i decided the cost was to high for the amount of running you get. 2stroke karting aint far behind altho its still alot cheaper than running a car.

I've just started up again with a as some so nicely put it a Ł500 heap of ebay c**p

and i can tell you even it still aint cheap

Costs so far:

1. Tow Bar Ł150
2. Trailer Ł300
2. Kart Ł500
3. New Seat Ł100
4. Parts from zoom Ł30
5 Set of New Wets on rims Ł210
6. Set of Spare Slicks On Rims Ł55 (Ebay)
7. Already had about Ł400 worth of race wear helmet etc

And I still haven't even hit a track yet

and I still need

Membership Ł50
Test Day Ł20
Fuel Ł10
Diesel to get there Ł10

Grand Total Of Ł1835

And I still have no centre tank, no race tuned engines and a 12 year old chassis.

But you know what I will go out there and I bet any1 on here Ł5000 I will have a fun day and thats what its all about, I'll prob still have fun when getting my ass spanked in the races as well.

My point is motorsport is expensive full stop thats prob why 10x more people play football for Ł5 a week with there local team. To take away tuned engines would do nothing look at my start up costs no tuned engines its just a fact its an expensive sport and you need to spend money to win or stay winning thats just how motorsport is even this basic entry level formula
