It can be strange with youngsters, I`ve seen several develop into excellent winning drivers at both club and national level yet, when I had initially seen them, perhaps, say, 12 months previously, I would have said had absolutely NO chance of ever winning a race. I have also seen drivers who showed little aptitude in cadet suddenly blossom into race winners once they moved into junior classes.

There is no set pattern or schedule, all kids are different, some will immediately grasp the nettle, others will take time, and some simply never will, but, as long as he enjoys it, give him time, plenty of the right encouragement, and watch him improve in both confidence and lap times.
