My barrel comment was tongue in cheek, harking back to other topics. So here's my 20 cents.

Check out the price of a new engine or even a 'Short engine'. Several Garden Machinery suppliers do them. Compare this with the minimum you need to spend on parts to go oversize. I reckon you might save at most £100 per engine. But this is assumming you reuse your old Cams and cranks which are bound to be well worn as well if you've worn the bore to the point where you need a rebore. Buy a short engine and you can end up with effectively a new outfit because an extra £100 or less you can put in a new crank and cam and have a spare head complete with valves.

At the very least it is certain that such a rule change while perhaps savings a few competitors a very small amount of money, overall would cost everyone a lot more and without doubt make the racing even less equal.

How cheap do you want or expect your racing to be? A new block is only £79.

It's interesting to note that in France a new 'Homolagated' GX120 block is 650€. Homolagated means that the engine number is recorded by SodiKart and so they guard their monopoly. You guys really don't know how good you have it.
