in the honda gx160 regs, your timing can be advanced, or retarded by anywhere up to 2 degrees.

most people keep it at 0 though, just incase something moves a little further than it should.

8 degrees is out of the question, however, if being used for non-ms racing, it would indeed increase your power, but by no real noticable amount.
