The differential is the steepness of the slope and will be horizontal at the top -- poor --- and steepest somewhere on the slope-- good. Get a piece of card and lie it along the curve.

the integral is the area under the graph and can be found by counting squares. Otherwise, find the polynomial describing the curve and using calculus integrate the equation
