A good way is to get a "FLAT" steel plate with holes so you can bolt the head to it, when checking it just squirt of carb cleaner into the port will show you if its leaking if you just use your own way of checking the leakage with air.
Even if you use a leakdown tester , a quick squirt will show you if its leaking.

Zero leakage is the best and after you have done it a few times, your think its a very easy job.
