Hi, I would agree with the comments that seat time and set up are the first thing you should be looking for. Once you have that, then go to an engine builder say UFO and buy a SP engine Make sure it is producing 7+ hp on the UFO dyno. If you are going into national racing S1 then the best thing to do is go along to the last meeting of the year with a very big amount of cash and buy the winning engine of the cadet that won, be warned that a very good Honda cadet engine will cost, because there are a lot of ppl after very few engines. I have seen engines changing hands for over 3k. deep pockets if you want to win. There is nothing budget about this budget class.
