I think you can only get the plugs with "R" now. Where I work we are not allowed, by law, to fit older none "R" plugs.
The "R" is about TV, mobile phones & other radio comms’ interference as well as car radios.
As to the numbers on the plugs its all about spark temperatures, but I can't remember which way it works, 5 is hottest or 6.
I will have to ask the rep' when he comes round next time.
