Its been a long time since I ran Dunlops so am not in a position to make any comment on them, but my question would be:

How good would they be in the wet (I assume they are a harder tyre than Kartlines so would offer less grip)

What kind of pressure would be needed to make them work properly at Teeside (the Kartlines can be run low enough to help smooth out some of the bumps, Teeside is not a billiard table type track).

£75 for a set of tyres is really not that much in terms of expenses for the year that goes into karting if you wanted to run at 2 tracks. In comparison if you wanted to run at a bridgestone run 2nd track you would need slicks and wets which I would estimate at a cost of approx £250?

Also a note on the weight of the tyres, maybe if its putting the heavier drivers off this could be easily adjusted slightly to compensate for that.

I can see the convenience of using the Dunlop as another local track uses them. I also know of some drivers who turn up, that run a run bridgestone track aswell so a switch to Dunlop would make it more expense for those drivers.

I am sure I have heard that if you wanted to try the circuit, there is no problem running the Dunlop or Bridgestone on race day, you will just be entered into the open class and not classified with the Kartline drivers.

I guess the best solution is to voice you preferences on here, put it to the race organisers and maybe get the existing drivers involved and see which way they want to go. I am sure they more than welcome any ideas that would improve the show at was is becoming a great sprint series.

Andy.
