100% agree with Scott, JCC and Eddy.

The obsession with power has gone beyond a joke, On many occasions i have heard that the engines won the race and not the driver and this is not the case. There is alot more time in chassis set up and the driver that can easily overcome the diffrence between sp and standard motors on the day.

The majority of drivers that are at the front of the grid now using sp Motors have been through the clubman ranks using non sp motors and have proven thereselves by winning many championships and getting inpressive results. So even if this buy back idea was put in place, the grid would almost certainly finish the same.

However i dare say a good chunk of drivers/teams would be missing having had all of there sp motors made worthless and alot of people wouldnt be able to recover from that loss of money. I know i wouldnt and definatly wouldnt be returning to karting in a hurry.

The only place to even consider buy back is clubman grids and even then all engines would have to be pretty standard (say 5.1-5.2 on Rpms dyno) to protect the class above and again stop all those sp engines out there becoming worthless.

I believe if the buy back engines where machined/tuned to be faster than or equel to sp's it would kill the class and the grids. Just like if this T2 engine becomes faster.

Pro karts seem to be a very delicate class however it is currently well supported in Endurance and sprint racing in clubman and pro's. If it was to change to buy back or if the T2 engine was made faster the grids would soon drop of signifacantly and the class would have to almost re invent itself, Something i am not confident could be achieved.

Ok i understand the frustration with people at clubman level using Sp engines but the time diffrence between them and the non sp engines is majorly over rated.

In my opinion this unhealthy obsession with blaming sp engines for the driver getting good results is a joke and its got to the point where owners of sp engines are still blaming peoples motors for being monsters just because they bought an sp engine and didnt jump to the front of the grid like they expected.

At the end of the Day if you are raceing the best in britain on £2000 worth of sp's and know you have the equipment to win. I class that as a bargain when it cost's that to rent a Rotax engine for 1 super one weekend. And even if you dont have the money for sp's you can still race at the front of the grid on your non sp's if youve got the set up and the driver NO EXCUSES!
