Let's be clear where I stand on this. I am not trying to promote buy-back as some sort of salvation. I don't mind how much you spend on engines, it's not my money! However, at every event I attend, competitors complain about the cost of engines required to "be competitive" The BB rules were written in response to this. Cannar, I don't know where you race, so I cannot comment. What I can say, from my experience where BB is operated, that there has been no connivance, no friends buying each other's engines nor frenzy of buy-back. Indeed, the hope is that there will be very little buy-back. The intention is that BB is a deterrent, the threat that your engine could be bought deters you from spending large amounts on an engine. There certainly has been little buy back during the 3? seasons that it has now operated in my area. All I am trying to do is offer a low-cost method of going racing and perhaps by that get a few more karts on the grid. Buckmore, Bayford and the like have proved that to be the case.
