hi Eddy, an engine fiche is a set of technical drawings stating the upper and lower tolerance for each engine part.

ie: length of conrod, bore of carb, deck height etc etc

The engine builder can then prepare an engine to the fiche, knowing that they have optimised each part and stand a good chance of having a very equal performing engine, as everyone else working to the same fiche.

It also provides scrutineers a set of part sizes to measure and judge.

Working to a fiche is called blueprinting, (old drawings used to be on blue paper and dark blue ink, hence blueprinting) and is the fairest engine prep method there is.
