I need to change the oil in my sons kart and have been searching the old messages to find out what oil will be ok and how much.

I have bought from halfords a Castrol 0/40 oil, will this be ok? At this stage my son is only practicing and is to young to race so I'm not chasing the lap times as such, I just do not want a seized engine. Also how much oil do I put in, someone quoted 450ml, is this correct?
