If you are using Magnum clutches, which sounds very likely, you need to use the white springs if you are racing MSA and the 'banging' noise you talk about is most likely the incorrect assembly of one of the clutches. Magnum clutches have options on engagement method related to direction of rotation. Ask an experienced pro karter to show you the correct set up, its a bit of a problem to explain accurately here.
