In principle, yes.... but... obviously, there is a limit. That would seem to imply that if you raised the rear sprocket enough, you might be able to run 10,000 rpm.... which you WON'T!

Anything is possible: e.g., if your air filters were blocked, then you won't exceed XYZ revs as there is not enough air supply in the first place. However, if you RAISE the driven sprocket size, you'd expect a number of effects:-

1) you will increase the revs that you are running in all places around the circuit. If that moves the engine INTO a better power band for corner X, that may be an advantage but, of course, it may move corner Y OUT of the best rev range... and that WON'T be an advantage

2) You will get a higher acceleration out of any corner that is NOT near the maximum rev range.

3) your engine will tend to be at a higher rev band along the straight: if you still have 'revs available' at the end of the long straight, then this can be an advantage to raise the rear sprocket. However, if you are almost at the MAX REVS on the straight.... then increasing the rear sprocket is likely to COST you top speed.

4) Don't worry about the actual 'values' of the revs at this stage. Simply TRY the one with 2 extra teeth.... and see what happens. Go for the 2 teeth so that you can actually FEEL the difference. One tooth may be too subtle for you to notice.

5) Do remember, if you were right, the others ARE running 22/66 which is a 3:1 ratio. To match that, you should be going the OTHER WAY and running (with your 20 tooth drive sprocket) a 60 teeth rear sprocket. That's also a 3:1 ratio and thus will perform IDENTICALLY (to all intents and purposes). If you ARE right about their sprockets, then you are looking in the wrong place to match their performances as they are MUCH higher geared than you!

Being brutal, if this is the only track you ever race at, and the 'problem' is either your driving, engine set-up, chassis setup, etc.. and you CURE those problems, you'll never use those 65 teeth sprockets again. The others seem to be saying you are running a too large rear sprocket already!

See if you can borrow two 65 teeth sprockets so you can 'try before you buy'!
