hetherip: do you find any significant difference in the "initial outlay" compared with a Swissauto 250 - the only such engine currently being actively marketed (but not in the UK)? Have a look at current prices. High-maintenance KZ engines, incidentally, are priced in a similar league. Outside the Rotax mainstream it all gets very expensive. XR30 low maintenance? That's for sure. Competitive? Well, certainly not against a Euro/World-spec, 34-35hp VT250. Twisty/slow Bayford will probably not do it any favours either. But I gather this is just an initial trial anyway.
ADZ: "Pilgrimage to Teesside"? Fair description, I'd say. The finest karts (XR50, that is) on the UK's best track: 'a match made in heaven' indeed.
