If he is only 6 you still have two years until he is old enough to race don't go chasing a faster engine keep it msa race legal and just spend as much time as you can with him driving check his lines are good there is more time to find from him and kart set up than in the engine don't try to run before you can walk It takes anywhere from six months to eighteen months of pure practice and then one day it will click enjoy the next eighteen months have fun set up is key and seat time the lap time will fall naturally as his experience grows. You could give him the best engine around but at six the chances are he won't be right up there with the lads that are currently racing because the lads who tend to set lap records do it when they have two or three years racing experience behind them. Just have fun it sounds like he is already a very good little driver. Consentrate on lines and set up and his lap times will come tumbling down have fun I hope that helps
