Has the master cylinder got a reservoir fitted but is damaged?

I don't know the thread size but,

Reason I ask is I've been down this path recently and you cannot just fit a reservoir into the filler plug hole of a standard system because this part of the system is under pressure when the brake is applied, unlike a purpose built system which has a port system that allows the reservoir to not be pressurised.
I may be wrong but just a thought before you go any further.
