i don't suppose you may have had something small fall into the clutch while it was removed to do the work, this may explain sparks or clunking ? or maybe you have left off the big washer that stops the clutch going too far on to the crank, if i were you i would make sure the big washer is fitted and take the clutch apart for a good clean and slight lube of the bearing, make sure it is set on the number 1 setting or it will make the kart judder etc when pulling out of the pits etc, make sure the end float is correct and i hope this sorts the problem for you...
