It sounds as though you are doing a great job and your very best. I think most of the criticisms are benign rather than being downright hostile which is what often happen.

You are just getting the flack that all people who 'do' things for their 'community' always get. I am sure you already know this but, if you don't, this is what we all have to accept. It's why all 'doers' get thick skinned!

More power to your elbow, I say! Stick with it so long as you know you are doing everything that you practically can.
