Unfortunately nothing you do will stop rubber pick up with Cadet tyres, especially at this time of year.

It's essential to get the pickup rubber off the tyre as you won't have any grip first few laps with it on.

I don't know about Project One's specifically but my advice would be to just work with the standard axle supplied with the kart as it will be the most suitable for a variety of conditions.

Dropping pressures throughout the day as it heats up and for longer finals will gain you a lot more but you need to get your kid used to driving with the kart loose in the early laps.
