"Prise off circlip from plastic gear assembly" The circlip in question is a rather nasty wire snap ring on the gear spindle which I always found impossible to remove. Apparently the gear can be removed rather brutally with a large pair of pliers. My method was to remove the flywheel and knock the spindle through into the crankcase with a suitable punch. (Don't be too vicious), slide off the unwanted bits, shorten the spindle and loctite back into position. As Brian says there are 2 or 3 steel washers to be retrieved as well as the nylon plunger. Note that Honda leave razor sharp edges on the crankcase which you are not allowed to remove without annoying msa.
