This argument has gone on for years. I can't believe that it still hasn't sunk in or be clarified that carrying lead on a kart has a disadvantage that is relative and in my opinion quantifiable to being over weight.
We calculated that 3kg of lead gave an equivalent disadvantage to being 1kg over weight, but even if it were twice this then the smallest kids are still getting the s***ty end of the stick.
If you don't believe me try sending an adult driver out with up to 2/3rds of his body weight in lead on the kart and see how much harder to drive it is and how it deadens the handling. There is far more to karting than power to weight ratio, isn't there?
