This has been a problem throughout karting history; few manufacturers (if any) have been willing to tell us. I suspect their quality control is not good enough to give accurate advice and thus prefer not to give us any on which they could be proved wrong. I have zero proof of this suspicion.

If the answer was discovered by an individual or team, it would be a closely guarded secret as it would make lap times more consistent.

So, put it in the category of "the dark arts"!
