I have the exact same issue. I came to the conclusion that the clutch bearing/drum might be the issue as I have already checked for any movement in the rear sprocket. When stationary, the clutch drum spins freely on the crankshaft and any mis-alignment of the clutch roller bearing could explain what is happening. This doesn't happen when the clutch takes up so it's impossible to assess whether this actually causes any issues when the kart is being driven. I will ask Jeff from prokart engineering to get his take on it.
