You are best to check what engines are allowed to be run where you plan to race.

Gx160s are where this class was built, however, it has also been the cause of its demise as the cost to be competitive has risen significantly in recent years due to the growing popularity of Honda Cadet once again and dads with big cheque books buying the best SP motor they can find. And we are talking thousands per engine - and remember you need 2! To keep them in top form you are looking at having to send them back regularly (each time costing you more money) and depending on use a full rebuild every so often. My last full rebuild bill was Ł650 and that was a few years ago!!

The GX200 Pro Extreme, however, re-introduces prokart racing to a budget. For Ł1000 you get a pair of Extreme motors that are exactly the same as the guy sitting next to you on the grid (and the guy at the front). The rebuild intervals are still unknown (and we are now in our 2nd year of this class) and failure rates very low. And who prepares the motors and seals them is one of your favourite engine builders - none other than RPM.
