I understand that the new regs allow you to machine the block face to set the deck height to a standard measurement, therefore allowing any engine to achieve a similar compression ratio. Remember, these modifications, including the exhaust and the timing from last year, not only even things up but are designed to be easily enforceable by the officials so it is hoped they will eliminate some of the cheating.
