Just should add that most axles will be bent to some extent and the chain tension will vary to some extent as the axle rotates. It is only when the tension goes from noticeably tight to noticeably slack that you need to remedy. Err on the side of a slack chain rather than run with the tight spot. If needed the axle should be straightened using a hydraulic press and vee blocks, so normally a job for an engineering machine shop. I would try to get an opinion from an experienced driver as your setup may be no worse than anybody else's.
