I just bought a GTK & was advised red/hard are used by most & will last longest and are progressive i.e. the harder you push, the harder they bite. The soft will still last well and bite harder with less pedal pressure. The yellow/medium is obviously in between. I got yellow, only used them once so far at the weekend and they were great :-D
