Last weekend, in the rain, we had a DNF when my son's Honda cadet engine wouldn't run properly, coughing and spluttering. It had been fine off the dummy grid and we had thoroughly warmed it up. I stripped the intake and carb off and sprayed with carb cleaner then WD40 everywhere and it was OK for the rest of the meeting.

Does anyone have any hints or tips for wet weather Honda intake protection though? Given the 'downward facing' nature of the air cleaner housing it does seem particularly susceptible to water splashing up from the rear wheels? Thanks
