ust a word of warning to you regarding a fraudulent transaction i had at Prokart Engine Parts.

I received a telephone order from a "David Wilson" of "Gleneagles, 150 Gleneagles Road, Sunderland SR4 9QX" wanting a Stage 2 Engine with a few extras. Total price was £1040.00 He new what he was talking about and requested billet conrod, debaffled exhaust, honda airfilter to remain etc as he wanted it to look reasonably standard. Payment was made by credit card and he was told it would take 5-10 working days for all the parts he wanted to arrive in and the engine to be built and shipped to him. Today, when i logged on to my bank i have found out that the transaction was fraudulent and as it was a Cardholder not present transaction i am liable and the bank have taken the money from my account to refund the card holder.

After a bit of research online it turns out that Gleneagles is in fact The Gleneagles pub in Sunderland. I thought it was the name of a posh house! I guess i was too trusting, but parcels would never get sent out ontime to customers if every transaction had to be checked for fraud and after speaking to my Merchant Account provider there are only so many checks that can be done. It would take us ages to call up about every credit card transaction that goes through our website everyday.

Anyway, bottom line is i am out of pocket and some g1t has a nice shiny new Stage 2 engine.

The spec is as follows Stage 2 Performance Tuned Engine (Genuine Honda GX160UT1), Honda 17mm Bored GX200 Carb, 1:3 Ratio Rocker Arms, Billet Con Rod, Mod 2 Camshaft, 14cc Clone Cylinder Head, ARC Billet Flywheel, Remote Fuel Tank Kit, De-Baffled Exhaust), Standard Honda Air Filter and Housing.

Unfortunately i dont have the engine number. i always take a copy of the engine number but in this instance was in a rush as the courier turned up early and was waiting on me boxing it.

If you know anyone who has suddenly got an engine with this spec or is offering it for sale then let me know. I have never said this before but hopefully this engine blows up big time!!!

And unfortunately for our loyal customers we are going to have to introduce more stringent checks in the future which will include only shipping to the card holders address. Sorry if this inconveniences some of you but its the only way we are covered. Unfortunately we are going to have to treat everyone with some degree of suspicion.

If this has happened to me it could easily happen to someone else. The main reason is to make you aware that someone is dealing fraudulently in kart parts and will be looking to either sell this engine on or to buy more parts off someone else to rip them off.

Hopefully this will help you all be a bit more aware especially around the Sunderland area.
