My son is 12 and racing Honda Cadet. He still carries around 5 kg of lead and we were planning another year in Cadets. However, I have heard that the age limit may be being reduced to 12 as of 1st January 2018. We race IKR and MSA. I've telephoned the MSA and they said that it's true but seemed a bit vague about it. Neither of the IKR tracks we race at seem aware of it and certainly can't give me a definitive answer as to their intentions. It seems that nobody knows exactly what's going to happen. Obviously if we're going to change classes that needs to be planned for, we can't just do it on 1st January at the drop of a hat. Does anyone actually know what is going to happen?
