If your starting out, you need a prepared engine, but not a parts selected one (big difference.

A race prepared engine will cost you about Ł400 and you might get a good one, put a lot of time on it, while changing the oil regularly and by the time the driver is ready to be competitive, so will the engine, and if you're lucky it will be really quick. Only don't go to one of the big names, because then you have no chance of getting a good engine unless you pay big bucks. Where do you think all the parts come from for the parts selected engines?
