can I butt in and say that the difference between stainless steel qualities and high tensile steel,(sorry Graeme but its best to be exact), are massive so best know what you are asking for when specifying the type of steel.

A photo of the part in situ would show the loads that come into play.

All ss is good for is weather resistance!
