it came off the exhaust and the gap was .003 the lock nut had not come lose and i have checked everything and all looks ok. as i said i put the rocker back on and then raced for 2hrs with no problems.
sometimes my engines backfire when i switch them off maybe this could have caused the spring/valve to bounce.
have this happened to anybody else. i have been told that what happened was impossible
