good news Paul!

I'm guessing there is a variance in the lobes from cam to cam due to the mass production. This can be an added bonus if they have more lift than they are supposed to have eh?

To answer your valve clearance Q... if you are adept at setting very accurate clearances then you can tighter on both the v/v's.
The exh v/v will burn out if too tight and the inlet v/v will just waste some of the compression if too tight.

I used to find that a slightly larger exh v/v setting gives a bit more torque for twist hairpin type circuits.

If you are ever teaching a youngster/newbie how to measure with a micrometer here's my tip...
# Get a set of imperial feeler gauges and get the youngun/newbie to measure a .004" feeler with their eyes shut and you check the result.
# If they can get it right 7 times out of 10 then they have got the 'feel'/skill that will stay with them throughout years of engineering problems and measurements.

Thanks again for letting all know the engine solution... it is surprising how many set a Q and then never respond with the eventual answer.

Brian P.
