I know it seems silly but check where your sensor is in relation to your exhaust. We had the sensor right near the exhaust one time and it made the temp go through the roof even though the water was cold and the engine was too. Run the engine and put your hand on it to check if it is running hot. thatl tell you if the water is circulating or not.

if not ring saxon!! They are always your best bet with these problems!
