It sounds like a Wright braking system , most have SWRD engraved on , they are usually reddish in colour ..
You will need a brake bleed bottle to screw in place of the cover screws 9 one at a time obviously )in the master cylinder to give you a head fo fluid to push out the old fluid and air when you loosen the bleed nipples or bolts in the caliper . They come with a tap so you can cut off the flow of fluid when you need to .
You can improvise but its a tool which you will need on a fairly regular basis so its initial cost is lost in the number of years service it gives you .
