obv' the following assumes you are racing 'open'...

the fan is designed to cool stationary plant engines...

fan blades cause resistance when the engine is moving on a kart.

yes there will be more heat build up within a fanless engine

just keep an eye on the rev counter throughout the session and if performance drops off check the cylinder temp with a hand held laser thermometer (laser will come in handy for tyre temps as well)
