Hi Guys, stripped it tonight, nothing untoward although there is a bit more swarf residue than I would have liked to have seen. Cam timing was spot on but I did notice the ignition air gap was tight (but it must have been before because I haven't altered it). In practice, we were only getting close to 5000 revs on the straight (we use an Alfano) but I put that down to the engine still being a bit tight? So, I have given the bore a clean up with fine emery and will give it some wire wool before refitting the piston. I will also reset the air gap and check the valve timing...tomorrow Thanks to you all, I will let you know how we get on
