yes dimensions are in metric.
gx160 pistons have different skirt length to gx200s (slowly rotating the whole assembly of crank/rod/piston will show if you have a clearance problem and the skirt can be trimmed if it touches anywhere)(obviously some regs do not allow metal trimming but I guess from your post you are not affected by such regs)
std dia of a gx160 piston is 67.985(going into a 68mm std bore) at the skirt, measured away from the very bottom edge of the skirt.
One important point when comparing parts... get to know your vernier or mic so you can confidently get the same measurement ten times out of ten.
