Personally I would never have water anywhere near my carbs (except when in the ultra-sound cleaner). Ultra-sound, air-line & carb-cleaner to clear & clean all the jets & get the water out (WD40 type stuff is handy as it dissipates water). Take care that the main jet & emulsifier tube are immaculately clean, put it back together. As RoadRat says, only fit new gaskets as needed.
