Can make a large difference, with a Honda can be up to 0.2 hp, a new plug is best fitted on the ‘dino’ with a Honda.
I work with lawnmowers & small plant engines & find a new spark plug is a cure-all, especially with 2 strokes.
Its the heat which seems to make them break down, may seem OK for 4 or 5 minutes then the engine will ‘go off’, as it gets to max temp.
All spark plugs must now have a built-in resistor, that’s what the ‘R’ stands for, it could be this that fades, but I don’t know about that.
